Great to hear from you, Carey!!  Did you hear HFS has been acquired?  Let me know and I’ll forward the press release.

Happy New Year and I hope your cough has improved.  (One technique that helps with a nighttime cough is to chew gum. Even when you fall asleep, the gum won’t choke you.)

well, okay, i asked my ‘new’ guy here and he had a clue from his memory banks, even if i didn’t — He says Bewitched’s mother was named Endora and so, her finger-snapping reality-change might be the reference here?  If so, you and he have some shared experience i’m outta the loop on

    loved your website, careyzinho…

and did NOT love hearing that you’ve got perhaps what we both had — and he still occasionally coughs up … Selfishly, i’m only glad to know that i/we didn’t give it to you … except by greater-LA-LA-land osmosis …  I’m sorry to hear that it’s gotten you and hope you swing through it as quickly as possible …

we are obviously quite out of the loop here though movie-wise (too), having not yet seen even one of your 3 must-sees … but your recommendation alone is enough to get us there … We did FINALLY see Stranger Than Fiction and quite enjoyed it – was a tad wary of a Will Ferrell movie but it surely wasn’t representative of his stuff to date … plus, not reading movie reviews pre-viewing, i hadn’t realized Emma Thompson was in it and she was, as usual, quite engaging.  I’m thinking that possibly you might not have seen it for the same Will Ferrell reason but then again maybe you psyched out long ago that it was a different creature …  We also saw, upon recommendation, The Painted Veil, but it fell short for both of us mostly due to a too-pat, predictable script/story and hard to relate emotionally, esp. to E Norton… who was much better in The Illusionist …

and once you’re well again and plus we have friends driving in from the Bay Area this weekend but hopefully very soon we’ll finally get together … i of course am with bated breath awaiting confirmation that your seal of approval will be bestowed and i don’t have to rethink this entire marriage ! …

where did you spend NY Eve?  and how was it (besides fabulous, of course)?  was it — ahem — the source of your flu?

again, wishing you a VERY speedy get-well

    with love and beijos,
    carolina
