Blogging
Had a yummy sushi dinner with Tyson, Amos and Josh tonight before their 9:00 bedtime, LOL
Waiter: What would you like to drink?
Me: Diet Coke please
Waiter: Is Diet Pepsi OK?
Me: Is Canadian money OK?I love that line!
So I’m being told by a lot of my friends and family that my blog is far too intensive to be able to take in everything. I’ve always been a writer. In school when the teacher assigned a 10 page report and the rest of the class groaned, I’d write 20. I guess it’s a bit narcissistic to expect everyone to read what I write. After all, I’m writing for myself right? LOL, sometimes I need to remember that. But, if I take the time to write it, and total strangers can take the time to read it, then shouldn’t my loved ones? It’s no different than sending 10 emails a day to everyone. The reason I called it Random Musings From a Storied Life, is because that’s exactly what my life is…lots of stories. Throw in a dash of politics and a pinch of humor, and that’s what this is all about. Before I started blogging, I just sent emails….maybe they never read those either!
I wonder if I should only start blogging every other day. I suppose I’d just write twice as much though. At least they could have two days to read it and send me their book reports. Ha Ha
Speaking of stories, did you ever have one of those mornings? The other day I woke up at 7:00 because I had an 8:00 dentist appointment and then had to drive down to Laguna Hills. When I got out of the shower, I went to put lotion on my face, only to find that I had put hair gel on my face! So, back in the shower I went. When I got to the dentist I found out that I had a cracked crown, and I had cut my tongue on it while I slept. He put on something temporary and told me to come back the next day to get the permanent crown. He also took a mold of my teeth and gave me a mouth guard to wear so my tongue could heal. The stupid mouth guard cost $50, and I was later told that I could get one at the local drug store for $5! Grrrr.
I quickly went back home and washed the mouth guard with some water and toothpaste. Then I wrapped it in some paper towel to dry. I gathered my things for work and quickly emptied the garbage in the bathroom into my big garbage bag from the kitchen and took it down to the garage to throw in the dumpster. So then I’m driving to work and I had gone about 2 miles and realized my tongue was hurting and that I had forgotten the mouth guard. So I turned around and headed back home to get it, only to find when I got in the house, that it was gone.
I suppose you’ve already guessed the rest of the story. The $50 mouth guard was wrapped in a paper towel which I unwittingly through in the garbage bag which got thrown into the dumpster. And damned if I was going to throw away $50, even IF I had to dumpster dive! So dumpster dive I did.
Well, not really, but I still had to pull my garbage bag out and dig around in it. After that, I took my THIRD shower of the morning and proceeded to drive 60 miles south in terrible LA traffic only to be late for my meeting. One of those mornings!

Ahhhhhhhhhh darn mouth guard. Love your stories. Judi
thanks for the comment. that’s some expensive mouth guard!
Ha…funny story, i have no idea you’re clumsy as me: (maybe even more, just kidding.)but look at the bright side, now you can get the $5 one at the local drug store , LOL.
lol, i’m totally with you on that…not only do i apparently “think i think too much,” but now “i think i write too much” too! :) the best (or worst?) is wen you realize that all of your comments on other people’s pages are starting to exceed the length of their original blog entry!! haha…so keep on keeping on, i say….type away. Im a senior in college and call my sisters at their jobs about five billion….maaaayyybe five billion and twelve if its been a particularly eventful day….and i know by now that they’re not really listening to half of it, because they know by know that it’s just random musings from a storied life!…well, my storied life! :) Problem is my stories tend to take on more insignificant characters and details like Dickens…only i’m not getting paid by the word (that was Dickens, right?? lol)….so i see nothing wrong with then sparing my loved ones and dropping all my textual waste on a website for other story-tellers with time on their hands to mosey on by and read at their leisure….wen u send ur loved ones emails it’s more of an obligation to read the whole thing and respond–cause that’s just how it works….wen you just write for the sake of writing and ranting and raving or whathaveyou, then whoever stops by to check it out stops by to check it out! :) and that’s always nice….
anyway, i also wanted 2 write cuz i TOTALLY had one of those days!! and just deleted a very very pessimistic and negative entry from my page about it lol….but it was entitled “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” which was one of my favorite kids’ books by Judith Viorist. It starts, “I went to sleep with gum in my mouth and now there’s gum in my hair and when I got out of bed this morning I tripped on the skateboard and by mistake I dropped my sweater in the sink while the water was running and I could tell it was going to be a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.” Poor Alex, and poor any of us with those terrible horrible no good very bad days! but this too shall pass, clumsy one. :) haha, and the dumpster dive for the mouthguard reminds me ALL too much of dumpster diving for a 14 year old’s retainer (also usually thrown out after being wrapped in a napkin during dinner! though it never happened to me….mostly cause i refused to wear it…no more braces? okay! we’re done here…thank you!)….too much….have a good one! :)
What do you mean is Canadian money OK!? But I’m OK with your Diet Coke decision. I’ve done the dumster dive thing for stuff I’ve inadvertantly thrown away,; but I usually look for pieces of paper, receipts and stuff. Have a great day I’m off to spend some Canadian money .
Peace
Hmmm. It could have been worse, you could have dived into the dumpster and not find the thing. Would have been a waste of the dive and a good shower! That Asian guy with you in that picture looks so much like a classmate of mine.
My condolences. Truly, your friends and family suck for not devoting as much time reading and responding to your posts as you do writing them. They have no lives and, as such, no excuses. Once or twice a week?! It’s an outrageous insult! I don’t know how you bear it…being so terribly unloved and alone, I mean. At least you can always count on the kindness of strangers. :D We all love you.
Nice picture mdrezz! I’m surprised you didn’t post the ones I took of you 20 years ago in Puerto Rico! Though that one looks equally 80′s. Darling when are you going to realize, I’ll always look younger and better…your blue eyes be damned! LOL
Love ya! xoxo
I guess the “OBAMA FOR SENATE” sticker on my chest doesn’t read well enough, but FYI that picture was taken at Market Days three years ago this next summer. HA! And BTW, we got stuck in La Perla surrounded by Puerto Rican gangsters toting rifles because you scratched their car in the NINETIES, so you can stick your mean-spirited, ageist barbs and spend the time on crossword puzzles instead — at your age, it’s probably not too soon to start exercising the ole memory…your perfectly white smile and movie star tan be damned!
Thanks mdrezz! The time on your post was 9:41. Only 19 minutes to get back to your nursing home. Hurry!! meoooooooowwwwwwww
BTW, I know it’s hard to see, but that’s actually me with YOUR little brother in the picture to the left…and I look younger!! LOL
The trouble we go through just for dental devices!
And I didn’t mention this in my story, but after I got back into my aunt’s car, she drove to a nearby Wal-Mart and went shopping through the whole store for about an hour. Just imagine walking around in one of the nation’s most popular store and trying to hide a rotten, boiled, chicken stench. Grrr.
And thanks for the praise, I can’t believe you digged so far back into my weblogs, appreciate it though.
