Mary McHugh visited the grave of her fiancé, Sgt. James J. Regan, who was killed in Iraq in February. He is buried in the new Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery for those killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    Today’s Photos

I finally got some sleep last night and felt much better today.  In fact, I wasn’t even sore from the 4.5 mile hike yesterday.  Donna came over for lunch and we hung out at the pool until she had to leave to fly back to Portland.  It was great seeing her as always, and we had a nice weekend.  Here are a few photos from today.

    My New Phone

I am so glad that I switched to Verizon.  Cingular/AT&T sucks eggs!!  I had their service for 11 years, and last month when I lost my phone, it was the last straw. After weeks of frustration and endless phone calls and escalations, I finally got out of my 2 year contract, without paying a penalty.  I’ve only been with Verizon a week, but so far, they are a million times better than AT&T.  Their customer service is superb.  I only need to press “0″ to talk to a live human being in the United States!  Plus I love my new phone.  Besides being able to watch live TV on it, I can also hold it up to any song playing anywhere, and it will “analyze” what it hears for a few seconds to determine the song’s “DNA”.  It then allows you to download that song as a ringtone, or as what your callers here when they call you.  It really is amazing.  I tried it with all types of music, pop, rap, even classical and it recognized every single song in a few seconds.  Very cool!

It even has Comedy Central, so I can watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, while eating dinner, LOL.

    Xanga in China??

    greatfirewall

Matthias found this great website today that checks any URL to see if it’s blocked in mainland China.  Unfortunately, mine is.  I have a lot of visitors in Hong Kong, and Lewis told me when he went to the mainland last year, he was able to get on Xanga.  Maybe they’re just locking IP addresses in the US and Europe?  Does anyone know a way around this?  I’m guessing it’s not easy!  I love the name of this website though, “The Great Firewall of China“
