  • The Evolution of Children & Surfing in Brazil!

Some dear Brazilian friends of mine have a son and daughter who I haven’t seen since 2001.  This is a picture I took of their son at Lake Michigan in Chicago on Labor Day weekend 2001, the Saturday before 9/11:

It’s always been one of my favorite pictures.  He’s such a doll.  It’s amazing how much they grow up in 6 years though.  My friends just returned from Ubatuba Brazil (where you might remember our gang spent New Year’s a couple of years ago), and this is what that cute “little” boy looks like now.  Gosh I feel old!  I LOVE these photos though!

And accoring to his Dad, the above shot will be what he looks like in 5 more years   By the way here’s Dad on a “business” trip last week.  Sorry ladies (and gentlemen), he married!  Thanks Luis.  Abracos! –Carey

  • omg, that is the *life*! i can’t believe we didn’t take kevin up on his offer to join him for his neice’s wedding down there.  it’s time for a vacation.  we all need it.  let’s plan it!  who’s going to take the dogs …. maybe we need to get them licenced as service animals so they can fly with us – quick, come up with a new malady that they can assist you with!

btw, i failed miserably at surfing too – i almost died!  pacifica is not the friendliest place to start though (so i come to realize only *after* i have risked my life there!!!

my friend chris was much more successful at it, although to be fair he has a foot on me, and shoulder/back/arm muscles that i do not as well ;)

  • I completely understand, my niece is almost eight and I can remember the day she was born as if it was yesterday. I guess we do not realize how fast times flies until we stop and look much the children around us have grown. It is rather scary, life seems to pass us by at an unbelievable speed.

  • You take good pictures :) I wish I could surf like that “little boy” ;D

And yeah man, they grow up so fast. My dog’s already 9 years old and I still remember the first day I got him :) I love him , but he’s becoming more clumsy as he grows older!
