  • A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Chris wants me to enter this photo contest with him.  Actually, I think he wants me to enter against him.  He’s a competitive SOB!   Here’s the rub though; it costs $45 per photo to enter.  That’s about all I know though, I haven’t looked into the official rules.  If I decide to do it though, I have to pick the right photo.  Here would be some that I’d consider, simply because I had them ”favorited” in my Kodak Gallery (thus the small size).  I would still have to go through literally thousands of my photos if I decide to do this.  Geez, I wish I would have started using the “star” feature of Picasa a lot sooner!!

I think this is my favorite. I took it on Boracay, in the Philippines on Christmas Eve.

  • first one is my fave! 2nd one is cool too.

  • My favourite photo is the first one and the Anchorage. You should take part in it . If you win the grand prize , don’t forget to share it with us ! :P

  • Wow. You’ve been around the world, haven’t you, Carey?

  • wow u really have traveled, it’s as if you were on Amazing Race or something lol

i really like Boracay, Anchorage, and the swan Munich

  • Those are fabulous and it would be difficult to pick just one. I curious how or should I say where were you when you took the photo from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil? I have found it close to impossible to take photos similar to that one, do you have advice for an amateur photographer?

  • Whoa-ness.  Very cool pictures.  i think i like the first one overall, quality and color-wise.  It would depend on the others.  i’m guessing some are older scanned pics?  Your pics make me want to travel.  Heh, good luck if you do decide to enter.

  • Wow – how amazing.  You take some really great pictures.  Personally I really liked the one of the light shining through the window in Florence, the sun in Oahu and the Swan.  They were all beautiful though.

  • For the naysayer out there who
questioned whether or not I took all of these pictures, I can assure
you that I did.  In fact, I would be happy to show the actual photos
and negatives for the ones taken before the “digital age” and the EXIF
    data for the digital ones.

  • First one, Oahu color is fabulous of course, and the light shining in window…..did the post really make it this time? wonder of wonders! Pam

  • Those photographs are fantastic.  My favorites are of course #1 and #2, but then also Table Mountain, Full Moon Over Sydney, and Rio.  I think there are some marina (Santa Barbara?) photos you took recently that you should consider.  Like you said, I’m sure there are countless other contenders.  By the way, the sunset photos are amazing, too, but I always wonder how they would fare in a contest, considering how many sunset pics there are out there.  Also, has the Oreo / Coke pic ever been submitted to the CocaCola people?

  • Nice photos. Have you travelled around the world? The nicest pics that I’ve took of the Opera House was when we had an event called “VividSydney”. :D

  • @Got_Takoyaki - Thanks…yep, I’ve traveled around every continent…even Antarctica!
