  • Parades & BBQ’s – What a Difference a Week Makes

My lungs are finally starting to clear from the fire smoke.  Today was a picture perfect day in Santa Barbara.  We started the morning by taking Patrick to the State Street Halloween Parade.  The costumes were great and the kids were adorable.  After that we had brunch, and then enjoyed a lazy afternoon until we retired to Tom & Cathy’s for good food, with good friends.  All in all a delightful Halloween weekend.  Lots of pictures to share…these are my favorites, and the rest are in the slideshow below.  Boo!

There’s still residual smoke from the fires, so the sunset was awesome.

    Is he not the cutest?

    Getting tired

This isn’t what it looks like!  I don’t drink!!  I actually fell off the balcony though.  LOL  We were talking politics, and I was getting animated, and it was dark, and…  Honestly though…I was stone cold sober!!  (And no, that’s not a pun!)  I’m just a dork.

This is where I fell from.  My butt is still sore!

    The best of the rest!

  • Great pics.  Looks like a terrific time!

RYC: No, Darling–that’s my oldest son.  Thanks, though, for thinking he might be my brother.  It made my day.

  • How I wish I was there with you at the Halloween Parade, I only wish HK has such thing like it.

I know i’ve said this before but you are a WONDERFUL photographer,
especially of kids… One after another priceless priceless shot at the
parade, etc. with all the kids… and of course the ever gorgeously
photogenic Patrick…  (and he looks old/wise beyond his years in that
one sitting on your lap at the puter, huh?)
Who’s the woman in blue wig?
Is the guy in blue face the friend/colleague of Bassam’s who was at his
40th, named Hassan or something – i think maybe he was Egyptian?
And are the backyard with chimney photos taken where Tom is living now?
And is the flame-faced woman Cathy?
okay, there’s my barrage of q’s — cute that you all adopted Bassam’s age for the weekend ) …
    again, great great photos…

p.s. as it turned out, on top of some other unexpected obstacles as
well, i managed to fall on Saturday while walking to my car at the end
of the day, fell over a curb — ahem — bloody gash and screwed up my
back in the fall — haven’t done THAT little trick in a while — atop a
very emotional day at school (we’re already doing role-actings of
conducting therapy and it was my day to be therapist for the first time
on Saturday — longer story i’ll spare you …)  anyway, i thought
wistfully of you all there as we settled in for a neededly quiet
Saturday night here … partly being on ice and partly just unwinding
which a long road trip would not have suited at the moment at all… I
had left it to make a last-minute decision…

  • Nice
    pictures.What
were you, a big game hunter?  I don’t get the white
    thing??The
gal with the blue hair was my favorite. A lot
of cute kids in the parade and nice sunsets.Dad

  • …wow, sounds like you had quite a weekend
I am surprised though, that you were able to take a picture of Eva’s boobs…getting tougher with the years it seems ;)

  • Looks like everyone had fun!

  • Great photos as always, I love Halloween and all the creative costumes. I wanted to dress my dog as a pumpkin, but could not find a pattern in time to make it, maybe next year. Thanks for the message and taking the time to explain to be how to insert photos. There is always something I want to try and I can not figure out how to do it, I am glad next semester I am taking a computer class for Journalism. I hope to learn a lot, thanks again.

  • since when was spiderman buff-er than superman? the costume manfac’s have gotten it all wrong.

by the way, have you ever pondered about how comicbook creators were just plain lazy?

“erm, he has spider-powers… so he will be named, ‘SPIDERMAN’!”
