Chase & Taylor in Love?
The celebrity studded Grammy weekend started with breakfast at Hugo’s where we dined next to Talyor Kitsch, the former Abercrombie model who now stars on Friday Night Lights, and Chase Crawford who’s dating Carrie Underwood and stars on Gossip Girl. (They both starred in “The Covenent” together). As Christine and I cooed like school girls, Drew began to realize it was going to be a long weekend.
Taylor on the left & Chase on the rightThat afternoon, a friend of mine got us reservations at the famous
Chateau Marmont for lunch. It was ridiculously overpriced and the food was not that good. THIS was my $20 Caeser Salad, LOL. I kid you not:After that we headed to Disneyland where
Darlene got us into both parks for free (with a FastPass! Thanks
Dar!). It was a perfect day for Disneyland, great weather, and not too
crowded.
Gung Hay Fat Choy from Mickey!

Buzz Lightyear from Carey Anthony on Vimeo. The next morning we had breakfast at Grub, which is the restaurant opened by Betty Fraser from Top Chef. She came to our table and fell in love with the dogs. She was so nice, and her cinnamon vanilla French Toast is to die for!Next up was Beverly Hills and Sprinkles for dessert and window shopping on Rodeo Drive so Drew could figure out what to get his wife for Valentine’s Day!
I forgot my keysAfter that we went to Hollywood & Highland and took a look at the preparations for the upcoming Oscars. Christine took those pictures with her camera, and they should be on her blog shortly. We decided to skip rooftop drinks at the downtown Standard, opting instead to pick up Claudio (so he could visit the Hotel Careyfornia) and meet the boys for a sunset hike up Runyon Canyon.
It’s amazing what 20 years can do!
Garbo was exhausted!
Claudio & I under the flagship signOn the way home Christine spotted Ian Ziering (from Beverly Hills 90210) driving his ’67 Corvette into Bristol Farms, so I pulled in and we took a picture of his car. LOLWe ended the day with a spectacular dinner at Koi. Expensive, but worth every bite.
This morning we headed to Santa Monica for dim sum and spent the rest of the day at the beach soaking up the 82 degree sunshine. As I dropped Christine & Drew back at the Burbank Airport for the short trip to snowy Salt Lake City, we reflected on another too short but wonderful weekend at the Hotel Careyfornia.
Happy New Year!
Tried to stop by the Grammy Awards at the Staples Center on the way home to get a few pics, but the traffic was terrible, so I snapped this shot of the Disney Concert Hall out of the car roof and headed back to West Hollywood. Here are the best of the rest. Have a nice week everyone! –Carey

looks like a great weekend was had by all – although you can keep the crowds and overpriced food – just send the 82 degree temps up here! -25 wind chills for our sunday! have a great week, peace, Al
What the hell kind of salad was that? If we tried presenting a salad like that at my uncle’s restaurant in Effingham, we’d never have people come back. Talk about poor food presentation and not to mention using the crappy part of the head of lettuce.
Carey, you suggesting that you need more visitors and
Billy
interaction with friends is like Pope Benedict lamenting that he
doesn’t get enough time to share prayer with people, or perhaps Britney
Spears wanting some more exposure in the press.
Wow, who is the hot brunette you hung out with? Thats enough to make any gay man straight. :) Although her husband is quite delicious as well
That dim sum place looks familiar….VIP Restaurant?
@curry69curry - Hi Garry…yep, it was VIP…not the best I know, but close to where we were going, and were pressed for time.
haha i had no idea that was Caeser Salad until u said it. lol
@Sc12EeN17aM3 - I know…I honestly thought I was being Punked! :)
Thanks for sharing these pictures and your weekend. Im not sure what im more shocked of–the caesar salad or you ordering a caesar salad thats $20.
-ray leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
@jigg - Thanks Ray! That stupid salad was one of the cheaper things on the menu, and I just assumed it would be decent. Trust me, I won’t be going back any time soon Britney and Paris can have it as far as I’m concerned!
ryc: going to SF this weekend! You need to be blessed?!
I was at the pier too…guess the props were up during the weekdays!
such beautiful pictures =) hehe
That salad looks absolutely horrid! I can make a salad better than that for a few cents! Looks like you had a fun weekend though.
@blessedbumble - Horrid was an understatement. I hope people find this when they google the place. What a rip off!!
leaves? you were charged how much for that again?
ooohh, a greenpeace shirt. i’ve been wanting one since college.
i feel like a kid seeing your disneyland pics. it’s been a dream to go there. yeah.
Hi Gary,
Happy Chinese New Year!
Colin was sick in Pattaya, diareya (not sure how to spell!) for 3 days, the medicine we brought doesn’t work, so we bring him to the hospital and doctor said he got infected, perhaps the food and gave him some antibiotics. The 4th, very energetic already, so he can play!!
Thanks for your care! Have a nice day!
Colin’s family
@liucolinbb - I’m glad he’s doing better. Take care of this little guy and give him a strong hug!
@Renatojr3 - It’s weird living so close to Disneyland and realizing there are people like you who have always dreamed of going there. My cousin works there, and can get up to 3 people in free a day, so we go all the time. Who knows, maybe they’ll open one in Manila some day!
@CareyGLY - well, i have heard of that story before-but not in manila, in baguio instead. but when a disneyland in hongkong is made, i knew that the stories about a disneyland in the philippines has become a myth. lol! btw, there’s a disneyland in japan too. of course, i can always go there but california is ENTIRELY a different story.
hey, how come no comments on my entry? no fair. lol!
happy valentines.
actually i had worked in disneyland hong kong ,heheee
