  • Roscoe at Night & Wireless Lattes

I took Roscoe for a long walk tonight, and wanted to experiment with the night settings on my camera.  I really like the way these photos came out.

Roscoe’s fidgetiness created this ghostlike effect

    I love his luminescent eyebrows

If he wasn’t tied up, he would flatten that basketball in a heartbeat!

    Arielle watching The Wiggles

Look at how Roscoe has grown up in the past 6 months.  He’s gone from a clumsy puppy to a regal, well, puppy still!

Congratulations to Ann (Roscoe & Arielle’s mom) for surviving the Yahoo layoffs.  She’s only been there four months, which speaks well to her performance.  I was talking with Jorge tonight though, and it doesn’t look like Microsoft is going to back down any time soon.  It will be interesting to see what happens.  In the meantime, kudos to Starbucks for finally doing the right thing and making their wi-fi free!  Now maybe I can use this on my iTouch to order hot chocolate without having to wait in a long line of 150 buff gay guys (actors, learning lines and waiting to go on auditions before they have to go to their jobs waiting tables at night) at the West Hollywood Starbucks.  LOL

Get your coffee fix, fast!” iPhone/iPod Touch
application that allows users to purchase their favorite Starbucks
drink without waiting in line. This application also includes QuickPay,
a swipe transaction system using semacode technology (waving your iTouch or iPhone in front of a scanner to pay).

  • Wouldn’t there also be a line up to pick up these Quick Orders?  In my Starbucks, the line ups are only about 5 to 7 on a bad day.

  • @ElusiveWords - If they’re smart, they’ll figure out a way to identify where you’re sitting (GPS? LOL) and bring it to your table!

  • Very cool..I want a green tea frap with a lot of cream please! ^^

Do you know when the 1-dollar coffee trial arrives in LA??

  • Arielle is so beautiful. Are they related to you or are they friends? I’m not really down with the whole order ahead at Starbucks itouch thingy. As much time as I can spend with the Starbucks boy toys the better. Besides, they seem to always get my order wrong unless I walk them through it…slowly. I order a non-fat steamer with a half pump of vanilla or hazelnut (depending on my mood) no whip and extra foamy. I know, pretty yuppie, but it tastes so good when made the way I like it.

  • great pix.  i love dobes – had 2 of them over the years and if my lifestyle permitted it, i’d have another.  what a shame the nearest starbucks is 75 miles away – not that i’d buy anything there! – lol.  peace, Al

  • oh yeah, i have 2165 credits, it that enough to buy Yahoo? – lol  peace, Al

  • @kimsamsoonLA - They’re being pretty tight lipped about it!  http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,325043,00.html

@cshetrone - Arielle is the daughter of some friends who live in the neighborhood.  In fact I bought my house from them and we became friends.  I wanted you to meet them when you were here, but there just wasn’t time!

  • i use to wonder if The Wiggles were written by gay writers… some scenes seemed a little to homoerotic. i mean a house of 4 men who wear bright colors and carpools? i say they should do their next performance at Rage or Motherload LOL

  • If only Blackberry’s had this kind of software support.

  • @infinitysurfer - Did you Blackberry go out this week?

  • Nice pictures bro! yeah i cant wait for that 800 dollar check =D

  • Hah…now I have one more valid reason to get the iphone…even though I’m not a coffee addict!!

  • @curry69curry - Get an iTouch like me.  They’re cheaper and thinner!

  • Roscoe is a beautiful animal.

  • Starbucks wifi is free?!?!  TMobile is still charging me 20 bucks a month for wifi access.  I suppose there are a few other places to get TMobile wifi, but certainly it’s not worth $20.  Thank you for saving me this money, Carey.  Not that I ever go to Starbucks any more anyway.  You’d probably be surprised to know just how wired (or unwired) Atwater is ;)  Kaldi’s free wifi access point is called “BuyCoffee” – haha.

Anyway, that is good news from Ann, and it was great to see those pics of Roscoe.  At first glance I thought you had put him in an industrial sized front loading washing machine.

  • @sethrocker - LMAO at the thought of a front load washer with Roscoe inside of it!

Yeah that T-mobile wi-fi was the biggest rip-off on the planet.  I look forward to the day where the entire internet is free everywhere.  It’s coming.  Thanks Seth

  • cool night shots
