It’s late and I have to wake up at 6 to take the train into Chicago, so I’ll just post a few photos and this quick story. My Mom got an email (excerpt above) from an old friend recently, who told a story about when I was three years old. The friend’s daughter’s name was Candy, and apparently because of that, I bit her (to see if she tasted sweet)!! I guess I had quite the sense of humor even at three. Poor Candy always insisted on being called “Candace” after that. Gee, I hope I didn’t scar her for life (physically and mentally). Candy, if you ever read this, I’m sorry!!
We managed to dodge
all the tornadoes around Illinois today, and in typical June fashion it went from hot, humid and stormy this morning to cooler and sunny, to hot, sunny and humid, to huge thunderheads at sunset and finally a dazzling thunderstorm to go to sleep by.
I love a rainy night. We don’t get thunderstorms in Los Angeles!

funny story about candace. i think she can appreciate the situation now.
your parents look very stylish and smart in their wedding photo.
your storm and sunset pics were interesting too.
the others are a nice photo journal.
i’ve never been to the midwest before. you took the train there? how long did that take?
There house is so niceeeeee! I love the cloud shots :) Looks like your having fun.
We had a heavy shower today here in Japan too.
Wow!!! I love these shots! Its so gorgeous! Also, your parents wedding photo is so beautiful.
Poor candy… I really hope that she wasn’t scared for life as well!

well, you could pass yourself off as a midwestern farm boy easily enough – assuming you could stick with just meat and potatoes! – lol as always, great pix – have fun in the windy city. peace, Al
Wow the first two photos of houses look so fake.
thanks btw :)
lovely photos
@razzlebash - I hope you’re right about Candace

@generasianx - LOL, no, I flew. Didn’t you see the pictures. What made you think I would take the train 2000 miles??
@aliceandrandy - Yep, they have a nice house. There are tradeoffs for living in the boonies!
@kim85 - Stay dry!
@Dezinerdreams - I love my parent’s wedding photo too. They divorced more than 20 years ago, but I like that photo that shows the happy times. Thanks Vivek.
@pukemeister - Bite your tongue Al!
@renshuuu - Yeah, the clouds make it almost look surreal, huh? Thanks for stopping by!
@MlleRobillard - Thank you very much!
@CareyGLY - Oh! Sorry to hear about the divorce. I sometimes fail to understand how people can be in a marriage for more than 20 years and then divorce. I guess, its like how on of my friends said… they remain in the marriage for the sake of their kids and once they grow up and are fairly settled… they go their separate ways? Sorry if I am being too intrusive.
WOW….My eyes popped. Whose house is that with the gazebo and all that at the backyard?! The wedding picture of your parents is such a timeline treasure that will pass on generation after generation. Your parents look like Hollywood stars! hah hah….
@Dezinerdreams - Thanks Vivek. They divorced when I was in college. It was tough, but in hindsight, it should have happened many years earlier. I just feel bad for my Mom, as my Dad cheated on her. He’s reamarried, and she lives with my brother. Men can be real jerks!
@me_zephyrs - Thanks. I think that gazebo belongs to my brother’s neighbors. I have always loved that photo of my parents. Simpler, happier times. Thanks again!
oh… I agree! Men can be real jerks! we should know better!
great photos of the storm clouds, (wheat?) fields, and creepy barbed wire and barn ;) I miss big rainstorms too.
@sethrocker - Thanks. Yep, I think it was wheat. See you tomorrow morning.
love the pics of the sky. especially the one with your parents on their wedding day. they look absolutely like the timeless perfect couple.
@rudyhou - Awww, thanks! If only time could have stood still!!
