Happy Anniversary Chinatown

Here’s a quick photoblog. We started the day with brunch on the Sunset Strip, and then headed to Book Soup. The Getty Center was next on the agenda, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day for that. Deep blues skies, a nice breeze and 80°. For dinner we headed to historic Chinatown for its 70th Anniversary party and had a great time. Tomorrow we’re off to the beach. Now, I’ll sleep.

Since you asked, I was too enamored with Carrie Ann (I was remembering her “fly girl” days on In Living Color) to notice what she gave you but good ole Bruno did his usual bit, jumped up and shouted “TEN!”

nice photos! the concept of doing swing and lindy in chinatown is pretty awesome too — not the first thing that comes to mind when i think of an asian neighborhood, but very cool to say the least. what was that like?

@lil_eric - Thanks! It was actually really cool. There were people dressed up from the period, and since those dances were big then, it kind of worked. It was a perfect LA evening. Not too hot, not too cold.

@Renatojr3 - Nope, there weren’t any fireworks that night. Friday is Independence Day here, so there will be plenty of fireworks then. Happy Birthday.
