Tijuana Jail
We went one day about a month ago,
To have a little fun in Mexico,
We ended up in a gambling spot,
Where the liquor flowed,
And the dice were hot.
So here we are, in the Tijuana jail,
Ain’t got no friends to go our bail,
So here we’ll stay, cause we can’t pay,
Just send our mail to the Tijuana Jail.
I was shooting dice, raking in the day,
And then I heard a whistle blow,
We started to run, when a man in blue,
Said, senor, come with me,
Cause I want you.
Just five hundred dollars,
And they’ll set us free,
I couldn’t raise a penny,
If you threatened me,
I know five hundred,
Don’t sound like much,
But just try to find somebody to touch.
So here we are, in the Tijuana jail,
Ain’t got no friends to go our bail,
So here we’ll stay, cause we can’t pay,
Just send our mail to the Tijuana Jail.LOL, j/k. We made it back from Tijuana today in one piece. My friends and family were so worried, but it was fine. Taking the trolley from Mike’s place downtown was really easy. Then we simply walked over the border, ate lunch, took our obligatory donkey/zebra (zonkey?) pic and toured the trashy mess that is Tijuana. Since Vivek is leaving the west coast soon, he really wanted to visit Mexico. Mike graciously put us up in the Hotel Mikeyfornia which also gave Vivek an opportunity to visit one of the greatest cities in America, San Diego. It’s late and I’m tired, so here are some pics:
Last chance to change our minds!
Bienvenidos!
Paco the Zonkey with Sancho, the Indian Mexican…I’m not sure which is more odd!
I’m not sure if this was a quinceanera or what…but there were a bunch of people dressed like this.
After getting back to America, we went to Old Town (the birth place of California) for dinner.
He’s really done wonders with it!
Tonight we watched the fireworks from the balcony when the Padres won.

Omg zonkeys are like endangered at the moment.
Omg I’m the first one btw finally!
Looks like it was a fun time down there!
Looks like a riot of colors!
The loft looks very nice (I like lofts).
I feel so scummy for saying this but I have to… Now Vivek can go home and say “Hell, yeah, I been to Mexico!”
i do love the kingston trio – yeah, i’m old! looks like a good time – i’ve never been to mexico, but then again, no burning desire to go there either – lol. mike’s digs look pretty sweet! peace, Al

LOL
@Loltothepower - LOL Jin, I didn’t even know zonkeys were real! By the way, congrats on your first comment accomplishment. See? All those years of responding finally paid off.

@pxlspy01 - Thanks Daniel. We’re heading back this afternoon. If you’re in the area, call me: 310-623-7715.
@ElusiveWords - Thanks! Yeah, this loft is something out of Architectural Digest or something. Very pretty!
@MlleRobillard - LOL, yep, that was pretty much the goal!
@pukemeister - You’re probably the only other person who reads my Xanga who knows who they are…well, and my Dad.
@Briani - What a nice thing to say Brian! I always shrink my photos for my xanga, so let me know if you ever want a full size version. Also, I put most of my photos up on Picasa at http://picasaweb.google.com/CareyGLY and http://picasaweb.google.com/CareyAnthonyGLY. I haven’t uploaded these ones yet, because I’m out of space and need to set up a new account. Thanks again!
As usual – awesome pictures. I especially like the one of Old Town.

@wherethefishlives - Thanks
I appreciate that!
@razzlebash - Wow, someone paid attention in high school Spanish! Nope, I didn’t have to pay anything to get out…Vivek had to pay an immigration fee to get in though!
@Sc12EeN17aM3 - Thanks Jad….I hope your birthday was happy
@ms_meagan - Thanks. So does your aunt’s look like that? We were thinking that was painted!
@PhilKwon81 - Thanks for stopping by Phil. I look forward to reading more!!
you guys had it so easy. i wanted to go pass the south border when i used to live in SF but I would need a passport and a visa and plus there is no guarantee for me to get back into the states afterwards. sucks!
@rudyhou - Actually, Vivek needed a visa too, and it was kind of a pain, but he really wanted to go, so he got one. Then he had to pay an ADDITIONAL “immigration fee” at the border. In cash, of course. The office still had a typewriter in it. No computer! LOL
that’s exactly why i didn’t travel pass the south border or even go north to canada. there’s just too much hassle for those who holds a citizenship from a third world country. so vivek is from overseas too, huh? i thought he’s an east coast local.
@rudyhou - He’s from India.
yeah, i figured that much. i just thought he’s an american born asian. hhmm, it would be interesting to visit the Taj Mahal and enjoy the glory of the real indian cuisine. do you ever dreamt of going to india?
@rudyhou - Oh, I’ve been to India. It’s hard to find someplace I haven’t been.
you’ve been? did you go to the Taj Mahal??
