Just Another Saturday in Hollywood
Yesterday, my TV in the living room died. It was 7 years old and huge! I bought it right before flat screens started becoming affordable, so it was about time for a new one. So today I went to Best Buy and got a 40 inch Sony Bravia. Chazz really likes it! This is the second TV I’ve had to buy in a month. The one in the bedroom went out a few weeks ago before Daniel & David arrived. I replaced that one with a cheap used TV from craigslist.
Chazz and his new flat screen…and the view of the accident from The Hotel Careyfornia Terrace!So while I’m setting it up, all of a sudden I hear a loud screech and tires squealing. Fearing the worst, I ran to the patio and watched as this woman backed her car into a concrete wall then plowed up the sidewalk, then backed into the wall again, and then went head first into a tree…airbag deployed!! Sadly, this is an all too common occurrence in front of the Hotel Careyfornia. First there was the dumb wombat who pulled the garage door off with her truck. Then there was the Bulgarian woman who crashed into my front yard and got yelled at by her husband. And who could forget the Porsche vs. the Garage Door? Now this. (There have been a few other pre-blog accidents on this street too.) These crashes were ALL CAUSED BY WOMEN DRIVERS !! Women do not belong behind the wheel in West Hollywood!! Stay home women!
Had she been parked on the other side of the street, her car would be in my living room!
The paramedics carried the poor woman away. I thing she was OK though…just in shock.
You can see how she crashed the back and the front!
At least she wasn’t this woman!Joelle arrived tonight. She’s left Chile for good and is back in the State for a few months before moving to Delhi. This is her second visit to The Hotel Careyfornia this year. She’s really hoping for that Executive Platinum card! After I picked her up from the airport, she wanted a malt, so we walked down to Millions of Milkshakes. There were a lot of paparazzi on Santa Monica Blvd and a red carpet event for All American Guys. They must have heard Chazz was coming!
Chazz looks like a jack o lantern here. LOL
Joelle takes in the local flavor on Santa Monica Blvd. on Saturday night…and enjoys a malt!I have to wake up in a few hours to drive up to Santa Barbara. Eva is in a play that we’re going to, and I’m going to take Chazz to the dog beach!

it’s insanity. why the hell does this always happen. why? WHYYYYYYYY?!!!!!!!!!!!
some people live in fear of suicide bombers, you have suicide drivers! i haven’t had a malt in soooo long – and i love them *sobs*. dog beach? only in LA! peace, Al
haha did you find out what made her crash that badly there? Did she drop her drink or something while driving?
Is there something about the design of the street that seems to cause a lot of accidents? Maybe you should put a sign up. “If you don’t want to be the subject of my blog, then slow down!”
You have the CRAZIEST accidents outside your home!!! Dog beach – how nice. There is nothing dog friendly around my area.
lol well some women drive pretty well here in malaysia and singapore =p
wow new flat screen… so i can enjoy watching movie then if i go to hotel careyfornia :)
You should write a book about Oreo.
I wonder about the design of the street which may caused these accidents, but again, that may be due to bad ‘fung shui’ too?
nice TV, huge TV! hahaha can you leavea comment in my photos? hahaha
I hope it’s HD!
ryc – no they weren’t going to pay me but credit my name…

@genamus - Um, OK!
@Fongster8 - Of course it’s HD! The HC is in HD!
what the heck!? i swear your street must be the highest ratio of car accidents and all seem to be right infront of your apartment. lol
sony bravia makes me drool. does it sound good? one thing i noticed about flat screens is the sound. you probably have a superb sound system anyway.
*****
we also have the same observation with regards to women driving. i know people will kill me for this but i’ve noticed it too.
Another car accident! You should be a news reporter =P
@Sc12EeN17aM3 - You’re right Jad. I hope I’m not jinxed!
@Renatojr3 - The sound is OK, but not the best. I’ve got it hooked up to a sound system though :)
