It’s The End Of The World As We Know It
Today was the hottest day ever recorded (113° F – 45° C) in the history of the city of Los Angeles, and I know why. Less than 2.5 miles from where I type this, the Devil herself, Sarah Palin, sits in an air conditioned ballroom to watch her evil spawn dance on Dancing With The Stars. (I wasn’t there this time!) It’s pretty ironic that the moronic Palin doesn’t even believe in climate change. By the way, for an excellent look at how corporate interests and racist Republican insiders built the teabagging monster, check out Matt Taibbi’s new article: Tea & Crackers.
It’s the end of the world as we know it, and I don’t feel fine!
Despite the heat, it was a busy week at The Hotel Careyfornia. We went to our annual viewing of the Singalong Sound of Music Saturday night, and then Seth and I attended a benefit at the Hollywood Tower (inspiration for the Tower of Terror at Disneyland) for an organization called The Next Family, that supports an “ongoing, open-minded and sincere dialog between urbanite families, adoptive families, in vitro parents, interracial families, same sex parents, single parents and so on. It is a way to remind people that the Next Generation of families already exists in larger numbers than the old model of a “family unit”.” Sunday, Stuart and I attended the wacky West Hollywood Book Fair, and hung out with Molly Ringwald (who looked great!) and Sarah Silverman. I also lost my phone! :( Here are some photos from the past week. Enjoy!
Andy will be 5 next week…hard to believe! More pics here…

It was very hot at my house as well….may I come over and use your pool? *assuming that you’ve got one?*
@CurryPuffy - It was very what Gary?
@CareyGLY - “hot” as in temperature/climate!
now it all makes sense!
i would effing die in that weather. lol.
@CurryPuffy - The first time I looked at your comment it stopped after “It was very”. Now I see the rest…and yes, I do have a pool. See:
http://careygly.xanga.com/730382730/refudiated-hiatus/@peacefulheart - LOL, exactly!
@ThePrince - It’s really not that bad buddy. There’s no humidity, and it’s definitely hot, but I didn’t even have my A/C on until about 3:00 this afternoon. It’s more like desert heat…though it’s odd for this time of year. And to think, Sarah doesn’t believe in climate change! LOL
it’s hot here as well. here’s what i get for complaining about endless rains for days.
btw, i am envious of that curly hair and the tie.
I was hearing reports about how hot it was in CA, but didn’t think they were true. It’s raining here, in the 70s
@Renatojr3 - At least it’s not humid here Jon. BTW, that kid has a LOT of character. He’s only 4 and he dresses himself like that!
@Roadlesstaken - We could use some rain here Alex…I’m scared the fires are going to be next! :(
Sound of Music sing along is among my favorite memories from my trip! Sheez- it has been two years already!
Time for ice cream, and it definitely looks like great fun at the singalong, 18000 people?! thats madness.
you live an exciting life and i’m jealous!
@Dezinerdreams - Yep, hard to believe it’s been 2 years since you were at the Bowl with us Vivek. You should stage a Singalong Sound of Music in Delhi at your store! LOL
@m3galomaniac - Ice cream sounds good Alvyn. Let me know when you get here! It will be my treat
@shake_things_up - From the looks of it, your life ain’t too shabby either!
113 bleh, felt like that in my room at my apartment. oh why is its MY room that is facing the sun and is the hottest room :( i came to school thinking its going to be as hot but ended up being over cast and humid instead? lame… lol
@Sc12EeN17aM3 - Awww poor Jadzilla. You can always come here and hang out in the A/C or the pool! :)
I love this blog post for so many reasons, some of which are obvious I’m sure ;)
@sethrocker - And I love that you love it! Thanks Seth! It was a great night.
