Update: Just got back from Chicago and I hope to be back on Xanga this winter. In the meantime, friend/follow me on facebook, Twitter, Google + or tumblr. Latest photos can always be found here. I’ve applied to be on the Xanga Product Council, so if that happens maybe some of my ideas will be implemented. Thanks! –Carey
June 13, 2011 6:37 PMI’m sorry I’ve been so neglectful of my humble Xanga. Each time I would think of updating, it just seemed to be too much to fit in one post; but of course the less I update, the more things kept happening. For the past month, every time I wanted to blog about
Sarah Palin or
Armageddon (or the
lack thereof) or the
Dream Act or
Xangan visits or
road trips or
reconnecting with old friends or
birthday parties or
frat parties or
Rio or
Chazz or
celebrity sightings or
customer service or
red carpet events or
holidays or fill in the ______; it seemed that it was easier and faster to just upload photos to
Facebook with brief captions or write a short
Tumblr (I know…traitor!) post or
tweet a photo or two. That’s the thing about Xanga that I’m conflicted about. I don’t want it to ever be
Tumblr or
Facebook, but I wish it was a little more adaptive to the times…so my blog here could evolve and not just languish. (Xanga’s
new sign in options for comments should help!) Oh well, I’m still a proud Xangan…even if lately I’ve only had time for proper updates once a month. In the meantime, here’s what’s been happening the past few weeks:
That’s it for now. For more frequent updates, friend me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter or Tumblr. Have a great summer everyone!

Wow, so much has happened! Well I’m glad you’re still updating here. You live an interesting life!
Welcome back Carey! Facebook has been keeping me in the loop, so I can’t exactly say that I missed your posts!
I always love your assorted blogs, videos and photos, Carey. You have an exciting life and it’s only natural that you feel like sharing them all with us. And your loyal fans/friends will continue to look forward to every update.
@Roadlesstaken - Says the most interesting man on Xanga! Thanks Alex!
@Dezinerdreams - Thanks Vivek! xo
@reckless_eagle - What a nice comment Victor. Thank you. And thanks for the rec. I always forget to use that feature!
It’s always good to see you posting here instead of … But I do understand the ease of those sites for those short bursts. With Xanga, I find I have to think about what I want to write first. It would be interesting to read how you became friends with David Cho. I remember the video you posted of his speech and he’s very inspiring.
@ElusiveWords - I became friends with David after hearing an interview he gave on National Public Radio. I was driving and it brought me to tears…I had to pull over. I wrote about him on Xanga and then became friends with him on facebook. We started meeting for Korean food and became great friends. Here are some more photos of he and I this week: https://picasaweb.google.com/CareyAnthonyGLY/DavidChoMacarthurPark. Thanks Matt!
Well, at least I was fortunate enough to happen upon your site during both of our peak blogging seasons.
and oddly enough, a friendship was born! =)
@MaximusMan - For that I am grateful!
Lucky! I just want a picture with David Cho so I can give to a friend of mine and make her jealous. Well, not jealous, but rather laugh. :)
@c_est_la_vie_mon_amie - LOL, why would she laugh??
’cause she’s got an odd sense of humor like that.
ryc: yeah, but it cost me a date. Blessing in disguise? :)
@c_est_la_vie_mon_amie - I think so…if something so trivial cost you a date, then she’s not worth your time!
Touching blog entry. I enjoyed your video of the Germans playing slow motion volleyball.
It makes me contemplate the fabric of spacetime.
So many wonderful memories…that’s worth treasuring until the end.
@Pearls_of_Trust - Thanks so much…I couldn’t agree more! Have a great rest of the week!
Needs more Xanga updates!
@Roadlesstaken - Yeah, maybe this winter I’ll have more time! :(
You need to stop fooling around with tumblr and come back here.
