Last night we went to see
Slumdog Millionaire at the
Arclight. We were sitting behind
Ron Howard (
Opie), and the theater was packed. I like seeing movies at the Arclight (despite the $15 ticket price), because it caters to an industry crowd that really appreciates good film making. When the movie was over it got a standing ovation, and then someone suggested a minute of silence for the victims of the terrorist attacks in India. Since the movie was set in Mumbai, it was an appropriate gesture and quite touching. This was honestly the best movie I've seen all year. (We're going to see "
Milk" tomorrow though, which also got a
93 on Rotten Tomatoes. I've heard excellent things about it too, and it's obviously another timely topic in light of what's going on with
Prop. 8.) Seriously though, go see Slumdog Millionaire. If you don't like it, I will pay you double!! Honest
The world needs a movie like this right now. It's amazing.

i'm glad the movie ticket prices aren't that high here - the grands would never see another movie! looks like a hell of a feedbag you guys put on - no wonder you're gaining weight! 4 women in the kitchen can be a dangerous thing! we can't get all the kids to sit down for dinner - there's games to play, the computer and of course the TV! but it looks like you had a beautiful thanksgiving day. peace, Al

Thanks for the review, I'm on my way to Slumdog tonight, cannot wait. I did see Australia Wednesday evening, and I mean what is NOT to like about Hugh Jackman, except that Nicole Kidman is his leading lady - ughhhh. So Australia was drawn out a bit, but I went for the Hugh View and got it :) Nalluh made the movie for me - this could have been a 2 hour movie, easily....
Happy gobble gobble!! Now you need to burn off all the yummy turkey meal(s) and desserts!! Window shopping will be a good option!

Woot! Ahh $15 for a ticket is pricey indeed. I don't usually go to the movies here because tickets here cost $15 just for mainstream movies.
