All GLY Things Must Come to an End
Sabine (a founding member of the GLY Gang), left for Germany today by way of Boston (to visit Youenn). It
was so nice having her here these last two weeks. I miss her already. (She just called to tell me
that she saw Lauren Bacall in the airport after I dropped her off; who was in LA over the weekend to receive an honorary Oscar. It was Bine’s first star sighting this trip and a fitting end to two weeks in LaLa Land!) The past couple of days have been jam packed with fun. On Monday, we went to see the movie “Precious“. Though I thought most of the performances were quite good; the movie left me rather disturbed. Sadly, I fear that the situations portrayed in the film are not all that uncommon. It’s worth seeing, but it’s definitely not the feel good movie of the year! Last night we went to The Jay Leno Show. Tyra Banks was supposed to be there, but she got stuck in NYC, so Kevin Nealon was the guest. Bine and I got separated while being seated, but I managed to smuggle my camera in and take a couple of shots before a mean security guard confiscated it. He told me I had to delete the pictures, but I had already removed the memory card and discreetly slipped it in my pocket. I told him the camera was “out of film”. He pondered that for a minute while looking at the camera and realized I was fucking with him. LOL. Then I told him I was just using the camera for the telephoto lens! I’m sure he didn’t buy that story, but there was no way I was giving him my memory card! He finally got tired of arguing with me and walked away defeated. During the commercial break, Sabine got to sing with Jay’s band. The problem was, she didn’t know the words to Stevie Wonder’s, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered“! After the show, we headed to the Los Angeles Film School for a special free screening of the movie “In The Loop“. It was fantastic!! The best way to describe it would be “as if Jane Austen and Monty Python collaborated on an episode of “The West Wing”. It’s probably the funniest movie I saw all year. Afterward, we sat in on a panel with the director and some of the cast. What a great night!

Hooray for Hollywood!Sad to leave The Hotel Careyfornia, but she’ll be back next May!Update: Thanks to all of you who wrote me about the Chocolate Lab, “D”, who we found over the weekend, and became Chazz’s best friend.
The owner replied to the Craigslist ad, and I got these texts from Claudio & Ryan last night:Even though, Chazz was sad to see her go, I’m glad the owner got her dog back. I can’t imagine losing a dog! It turns out she was 2 years old and hadn’t been spayed. I wonder if she’ll have puppies now??

Haha. I knew you would somehow sneak in the cam and take a few shots.
sneaky sneaky =P You go to every show! I’m going to watch The Tonight Show in December xD
well, i’m glad you guys had a great time – no shortage of activities out there! and i’m sure the pups owners are happy to have their baby back home – maybe they’ll donate one of her babies to you as a reward! peace, Al
you must be an expert in getting a camera into TV shows. I tried to stay up to watch Jay Leno show to get a glimpse of you on TV, but my jetnag overwhelmed me. maybe next time, gly.
I’m glad the owner found her dog. So many lost pets stay that way.
@Dezinerdreams - I brought the spy pen too, just in case
LOL, there you go againd with “jet nag” Haha!
@aliceandrandy - I hope he has better guests for you than for us!
@pukemeister - At least we know Chazz insn’t the father. http://careygly.xanga.com/687475323/careys-hollywood-roundup–canine-cajones/ I don’t want to be paying child support for the next 12 years!
@stevew918 - I’m pretty good at creating diversions!
@wherethefishlives - I know…though we never found out why she didn’t have a collar or tags on…that’s just stupid!
Oh, and I just now noticed that Precious and In the Loop have similar poster art, although completely different plots apparently.
@wherethefishlives - I didn’t even notice that, but you’re right. Maybe it’s the same artist…thought the movies couldn’t be more different!
Wow, slick moves, Carey! You are a regular spy. First you secretly put the “evidence” from your camera into your pocket and then you Jedi mind trick the big oaf of a security guard! I need to enroll in your spy school!
@pxlspy01 - You’re the Luke to my Han Solo CJ!
How was the Jay Leno show? Are his jokes funnier in person?
@Roadlesstaken - LOL…yeah, he’s a generally funny guy…even when he’s not on camera. He’s kind of a man of the people. Nice guy.
@CareyGLY - I get that vibe from him. Even though I wouldn’t consider him the funniest comedian, I’m amused by him. He’s like comfort food.
@Roadlesstaken - Yep, I think that’s a good description Alex. He seems like a genuinely nice guy too!
I like Jay Leno better than David Letterman. You reunited the Choc Lab her owner. Nice.
I watched that show. You were crazy to smuggle your camera in…but oh my, such great shots. And I am glad that the guest dog was back with her owner.
@reckless_eagle - I went to the Letterman show in NYC years ago, it’s a totally different vibe.
@ZSA_MD - Awww thanks! I’m glad you liked them!!
HAH you cheeky monkey, taking pictures! Jay Leno should’ve whacked you with his chin from where he was sitting :) Haha. LOL I love how totally blase you are about the whole situation and remaining cool, I admire that, the security guard on the other hand…did he make it past 9th grade?
Sorry I was posting comments for such a long time, but fear not, all my exams are over and I am dedicating a good 4 hours to reading your blog posts!
SABINEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! She looks well! :)
I really want to watch Precious but it comes out next year in April ( Trust New Zealand to be the only country outside of the US to get New Moon first but not a proper movie like Precious. Don’t get me wrong I love New Moon and all but I need a good deep movie after my epic fail chemistry exam, wow this parenthesis is long )
Wow, missed a lot, a chocolate lab!! I miss my black lab, but suffice to say, I’ll be hugging Leo again in 2 weeks, yeah, I’m finally flying back to Malaysia. You’re welcome to collect the snowman whenever you want and you’re invited to my 18th! :)
Have a great weekend!
haha i like how you tried to argue back even though it really was your fault in the first place. your crazy lol
Saw your site via my friend’s Victor @ reckless_eagle recommendation. I must say you lead quite an interesting life in the fast lane. Showbiz people, rescued animals, lights, camera and action.
hey…sounds like a fun day. =D hehe.
@Loltothepower - LOL, thanks Jin. Congrats on finishing your exams. I think you’re being too liberal about the security guard’s education! Give Leo a hug for me. I’ll be by to pick up the snowman this afternoon!

@Sc12EeN17aM3 - That’s how you win an argument Jad!
@Reckless@mancouch - Thanks for stopping by!! My life isn’t as excititng as Victor’s, but I try! :)
@Ed_Libra - Thanks Eddie, indeed it was!
