Dumplings, Dogs and Drag Queens
I’ve been trying to get to Din Tai Fung with Lexi & Rita for over a year now, and we finally made it. We ordered way too much, but the leftovers are always great! I just wish it was closer!
Watching the dumpling makersKeeping with the food theme, here’s Chazz staring up at my dinner the other night with his laser eyes:The sunsets seem to be getting prettier each night, and they look so good with Chazz in the foreground: It’s been in the high 70′s (25°) all week here and we’ve had some spectacular colors in the sky!
Sunset on Sunset (Blvd.)
Looking west on Sunset Blvd. at the top of my streetThe kids went to Disneyland today for Dar’s retirement party and Andy fell asleep in the car on the way home and never woke up:And finally, it’s nice to know when your words inspire someone. This was a great way to start the new year. I’m glad I was able to help you Kevin. Keep up the good work!

The food looks amazing! I remember the lunch we had there… it was really good.
PS: The guy who took your pic at Din Tai looks cute.
@Dezinerdreams - He was SO cute!! He may be the one! LOL
when i was a kid, one of the most popular shows on TV was 77 sunset strip staring Ed “Kooky” Bernes. great pix – i love the kid watching the dumplings being made. that is a sweet note you got. peace, Al
I love Din Tai Fung dumplings. (LA, Taipei, HK, Singapore, ,,,,). hehe. I think the ones in Taipei tasted the best.
Awsome Pictures! The sunset looks amazing.
The high 70s? I can’t describe the jealousy I’m feeling. It hasn’t gotten above 25 degrees here pretty much this whole week.
Update: It’s currently 9 degrees outside with wind chills below 0.
@pukemeister - I never saw that show, but heard of it. They just announced that the Sunset Strip is getting a facelift. I’m not excited about the construction!
@stevew918 - I’ve only been to the Taipei and Arcadia ones. I didn’t know they had others!
@GloomySunday1 - Thanks! Happy New Year!
@wherethefishlives - It least our F and C match! LOL
Chazz’s eyes reminds me of the Terminator’s. Heh heh. Great pics, the food looks absolutely delicious — Chinese food! Yes, I went to a similar Chinese restaurant just 2 nights ago. I like watching those cooks prepare the food.
@reckless_eagle - Awww thanks Victor! If you come to LA, I’ll take you to Din Tai Fung!! Happy New Year!
Great photos Carey! :)
@NVPhotography - Thanks!
Love the first picture! I probably would be staring into the kitchen too.
That’s also a lovely Thank You – you’re pretty special to a lot of folks. (not just to kids)
@ElusiveWords - Thanks Matt. I love that picture too. So innocent. I appreciate the kind words!
I like the second photo, with the kid’s reflection and a view of the kitchen. Looks like you guys ordered a good dose of dumplings at DTF!
Lucky for us in L.A. having good weather during the New Year!!
i love the one of chaz staring at the pasta. that was before his ear was mangled?
@CurryPuffy - LOL, I always order too much at that place!
@curtainsopen - Yep, the ear incident happened yesterday…he’s a trooper though. Vincent Van Chazz. LOL
I call that digital cheating on the bunny ears cropping! You have ruined a sacred tradition of ruining photos!
@pxlspy01 - OK, that comment literally made me laugh out loud. Great way to start the day! Thanks CJ!! :)
…i love that pic of Chazz staring at your food. awesome dog!
@Ed_Libra - Thanks Eddie. We love him! :)
