  • GLY in PDX

Greetings from the Rose City.  As some of you know, Marcelo & Emily moved here recently, and a bunch of us from our GLY group have decided to converge on them for ThanksgivingBassam arrived tonight, and Tom, Cathy, Patrick, Vonda, Nate & Bianca are coming Thursday.

In my old job I used to come to this city once a month for 13 years, so it was great coming back for the first time in several years.  I spent the whole afternoon at my old office visiting many good friends.  This is a stunningly beautiful city full of trendy hipsters and a vibrant cultural scene.  It’s 3:00 AM and we’re all still up talking, so I’m just going to post some photos and a couple of videos and get back to the party!

Marcelo & Emily aren’t big TV watchers!  This is their only television and it has rabbit ears!!

Only in Portland…we found this duo in the Apple store in Pioneer Place

    Virtual soccer

Dinner at Montage, a Portland icon.  Nothing like Macaroni & Spam w/ Alligator!

  • without a doubt, your site is going to the dogs – not that it’s not still a howling good success! – oh the PUNishment ppl I know must take!  looks like a great time was being had by all.  I knew at once when you described a place full of hipsters that you weren’t referring to Rose City, MI!  Our theater in Bad Axe still has the old marquee and has been featured in many newspaper stories – those things are fast disappearing too.  peace, Al

  • ryc what do you mean ‘I don’t know what I’m getting into’?  I’m going on a blind date with some gay dude I met online!  LOL

    Skunk (the heterophile)

  • Macaroni and Spam with Alligator!!!!  I am sure it was wonderful.  I know I like macaroni and spam but have never tasted the alligator.  I am not so sure about the combonation of the three though!  I have always wanted to taste alligator and snake.  Have you ever had any really exotic foods like monkey brains or something?

  • LOL, never did monkey brains.  Probably the most exotic I’ve had is snake blood (didn’t like it) and balout in the Philippines (fetal duck eggs).  Hated that too!  Drew the line at monkey brains.

  • The menu at Montage really make my mouth water,  nice variaties. I got to eat there when I visit Portland next time.  But I am not ready for Macroni and Spam with Alligator nor monkey brain!!! lol.

  • wow…snake blood? you must be brave enough to try it ya! anyway i am going to manila in 2weeks! i am thinking i am always going to the cities you had been ya!

  • whoa wu~~~ lovely city
