I Need a Bailout…and a Nap!
Here at The Hotel Careyfornia, we pride ourselves on offering the finest accommodations of any fake luxury boutique hotel in Southern California. This past weekend however, we were filled to capacity, and our guests had to resort to sleeping wherever they could find a spot.
Is it too late to request bailout money to expand our facilities??Of course there wasn’t much sleeping going on at all. I don’t think I got more than 4 hours sleep since Friday, as these photos show:
Bassam managed to stay awake through the whole Rodgers & Hammerstein spectacular, even though he had just flown in from Jordan and his arms were tired!
They even surprised me with a cake!
None of my friends had ever been to the Hollywood Bowl…it was such a great show and I was so happy to share it with them!
Even Claudio, who pretended to hate Rodger’s & Hammerstein, secretly loved it! He even invited our hotel’s maintenance man! Love ya Ryan!!!!

Marcelo & Emily had this “5 Star Hotel Careyfornia” sweatshirt made for me…and on the sleeve there’s a drawing of Oreo with the words, “Dogs Welcome”. Isn’t that awesome? I’m acquiring a whole line of Hotel Careyfornia merchandise! T-shirts, placemats, towels, and of course our flagship’s sign! Thanks to my wonderful friends for an amazing birthday!

Dear Carey,
I know that your birthday was on september 6th already, but by then
Miggl and I were in “the wild, wild east”, in Kurdistan close to the
Syrian border “where people shoot at you if you are on a motorbike” (an
information we got on a pizza-stop on our way to Turkey from an
Austrian motorbike who was sitting next to us and who never in his life
went any further than Rome – not even further south in Italy – but he
knew all the terrible things and stories that happen to you, if you go
any further either south or east!!!)

Anyways we had a great time but on your birthday we were already on our
way back cruising through Greece where we took the ferry-boat back to
Italy.
We came back Monday night, well actually Tuesday morning! But we were
thinking of you and toasting with coca (not diet, but coca!!).

poor regions of Turkey I am again and again just happy for everything I
have, everything I lived so far, the fantastic lives we have … there
are some troubles sometimes – but hey, nothing to compare. We are shiny
happy people laughing ….
Keep your smile it is the best on the whole planet and I suppose in the
whole universe (didn’t go so far yet, but that’s on my “journeys-to-do”
- list – in the search for a smile like Carey’s!!!)

Carey…I love the “album” of the 44th Birthdays..etc.! (Eva’s
accounting was also entertaining)They are all great AND I especially
enjoy seeing all the elegant accommodations you NOW have available @
the Hotel Careyfornia. When we were there, we were relegated to a bedroom? With a lovely Bed?! I don’t know what to think about that , except , perhaps, those other accommodations were already “taken” and by guests more
important than us?!? (If that is possible). Well, for our next visit, I
would like to reserve the bathtub “room” and Eric thinks the “seat on
the balcon” would suit him just fine…that is if the
railing is included, as he perceives it to be a critical item re:
comfort. Your attention to detail does not escape me and you can rest
assured there will be due compensation.

@Mick - Oh Mick, I love you so much. This was the best birthday gift I could
have received. Thank you for your inspiring beautiful words and thank
you for being such a light in all of our lives. We invoked your name
many times this past weekend, always with a wide smile and a hearty
laugh. I’m not sure if you saw the pictures or videos on Facebook yet,
but Marcelo & Emily were here as well as Eva & Bassam and
more. I’m glad you made it back safe and sound and no worse for wear.
You live life more than any one I know. You define adventure and I

Congratulations also for the desire, sympathy and capability to receive such a team of nice and beutiful people in your HOTEL CAREYFORNIA( ok, I suppose you did not charged them for their staying with you in your HOTEL CAREYFORNIA.he! he! he!he! he! he! he! he! he! he! he! he!he! he! he!…) Emily, our sweet arrow, I got the impression, from HOTEL CAREYFORNIA pics, that you have changed for better. I saw you more beautiful than before. Could it be because you are healthier with your stomach or could it be beucase marcelo is taking care of you with higher energy? Or, finally, could it be because marcelo gave you a twenty one days holidays when he came to visit us? he! he! he! he! he! he! he!he! he! he!…)
That’s such a good way to accommodate someone into a small space not even the least luxury hotel would have such uncomfortable place to lodge guests. I saw a picture in the news of a man who was drinking a lot and having a tablet of Cheap Viagra at the same time.
